Crucibles enable you to analyze your samples in high-temperature applications. They differ in profile, material and application.
White ceramic crucibles are used with our EMIA analyzers. These crucibles have a low carbon content and high dimensional tolerance for high-precision analysis, as ceramic is renowned for its resistance to very high temperatures.
The ceramic material is chemically inert and does not react with the sample or the gases released during the analysis. This prevents contamination and ensures accurate measurements.
Maintenance and replacement:
- Ceramic crucibles are designed to withstand high temperatures, but their integrity can degrade after a single use due to thermal stress, chemical reactions, or mechanical wear. Using them more than once could lead to contamination of materials, cracks, or even failure during high-temperature processes.
- Check for any pre-existing cracks, chips, or defects before using the crucible, as damaged crucibles may break or fail during high-temperature operations.
